and is pretty smart looking in red and blue I think

I believe the whole bottom used to be covered in paper

and reaching their height of popularity in the mid-1800s

Sailboats on Water, Antique British Monochromatic Ink Wash Postcard servingware It measures 7 7/8" tallThis ink wash seascape is pretty understated, but I think makes for quite an elegant, and also a bit melancholic, old postcard, c. 1910s British, I believe. The monochrome palette also makes it feel sort of mid way between watercolor painting and black and white photograph, at a time when one was giving way to the other, which for me rather enhances its end of the day feeling. 3 1 2" x 5 1 2" and in excellent condition, with unused back.
